Simple Easter Styling

Despite the weird weather we have been experiencing here in Vancouver lately, Spring is definitely here and I am loving the pretty pink blooms on all the trees and the Spring Flowers in the gardens. My neighbor has a beautiful front yard and I couldn't help snapping a few photos...

I am excited about Easter next weekend because we are hosting a brunch for a few friends and my son is coming home for the long weekend. I had some fun digging out my Easter decorations and styling a few areas of our home and today I wanted to show you some photos.

In previous years, I used to go all out with my holiday decor, but in the last few years I have really craved a more paired down approach to welcoming a holiday season into our home. This year I used candles, fresh flowers, and a small dose of themed decor to decorate my home for Easter in just a few key areas.

Front Door

I love to decorate the front porch area of our home because it's the first thing that people see ...and you know how important first impressions are!

I picked this bunny wreath up at Homesense last year and stuck a few faux flowers in it with some green moss. I think it's pretty cute!

I bought this plant...I wish I knew what it was called...from the grocery store and popped it into one of the baskets on our front step. It pairs nicely with the basket of faux greens and I love the soft mauve color.

Living Room Mantle

I always enjoy decorating our mantle for the holidays, and I made a few simple additions for Easter.

The only thing that really reads "Easter" is the blue dish with some Easter Eggs in it. After the holiday is over I will remove it and leave this mantle as-is for the rest of the season. The terracotta pink candles came from Indigo and they are so pretty with my existing decor.

Kitchen Table

I created a centerpiece on our kitchen table and it started with a vase of flowers that were a sweet gift from a friend. I added a woven tray, some cute bunny candles and then some white linen napkins.

I added some additional elements to create more of a tablescape vibe! First I added a woven tablerunner, some more candles, some pretty green dishes and champagne gold cutlery....

I just happened to have some banana cake on hand, and I love the way food looks in photos, so I added a piece of that too! The recipe for this yummy cake is from Cake by Courtney.

Kitchen Island

We always have this tray in the center of the island to add a bit of warmth to the space, and I switch up the decor on it to mirror the seasons.

Even though we travelled to Maui with carry-on bags only, I managed to tuck these cute marble candle holders into my backback... probably my smallest Target purchase ever! The set of kissing bunny mugs are also a new purchase, as well at the candles , from Indigo. Also included in the vignette are some tulips and some pastel Easter eggs displayed in a bowl.

Open Shelves

Another place I like to decorate for the seasons are my open shelves in the kitchen. I tucked a few of my favorite Easter decor items in with the existing items on display. I have had the set of 3 ceramic bunnies forever and they just make me happy. The yellow woven chicks are so cute, as are the set of chicken measuring cups.

Formal Dining Table

I haven't gotten around to styling our table just yet, but pulled out some Easter egg mini dishes and these bunny ear napkin ring holders. I will use my white dishes from Crate and Barrel as well as some fresh flowers and am excited for it to come together. I will share my Easter Table decorating over on Instagram, follow along with my progress there!

Thanks so much for reading and I wish you a Happy Easter Weekend!
