Mood Board Monday No.2
Good morning friends,
I just returned from a quick visit with my parents and extended family back east. It was a whirlwind trip but I got to see lots of loved ones, so it was a great time. I traveled with my sister which was so fun!
Last week I announced I was going to start a regular series here, so without further ado, I bring you…
Today’s mood board was inspired by a recent project. I am helping my friend stage her beautiful condo, located in downtown Vancouver. We paid a visit to Structube to check out some pieces to use for staging her place. This is in no way a paid post or sponsored by Structube, I just really like the store, they have so many on-trend and affordable pieces! One of the areas in the condo staging project we are focused on is the living room, and that is the subject of today’s mood board.
One of the things that really caught my eye when we walked into Structube was this pretty gold and glass table.
This piece is so pretty, but not at all practical for my family, and that is what I love about creating these mood boards! I have the freedom to create a dreamy space, even if it is not for my home. This is the piece that provides the “glam” to the mood board I created, and was my inspiration for the room design.
Next I chose the simple yet elegant mid-century modern sofa. This particular style is velvet which I thought provided some sophistication to the look. This sofa comes in other colors and also in leather.
I loved the idea of adding a bold statement chair to the mix, and this chair caught my eye…
I thought this painting was a really great way to tie the space together and provide some color and visual interest.
The other item that really caught my eye is this cute fluffy little stool…this is one item that I have my eye on for my own family room.
It’s all about the layers when it comes to adding style to any room, and the easiest way to do that is with some fun throw pillows…maybe a fluffy white one to match the stool?
I like adding some pattern to a space, and this floral pillow provides just that, while also picking up some of the blue tones from the painting.
Another important layer is to add an area rug, the biggest one that can fit into your space is always a good idea! I love this rug:
Last but not least, every room needs some lighting, and I like the idea of a floor lamp. This one is simple yet elegant, and the gold relates beautifully to the coffee table while the black mirrors the legs of the statement chair.
Another look at these pieces together…
I created a board on my Pinterest account for these mood boards, as well as those created by others. Click the link to my Pinterest account at the top of this page for tons of home inspiration!
Do any of the pieces in this post catch your eye or speak to you? Have you shopped at Structube? I would love to hear some feedback about this store, feel free to comment below!
