Introducing Ginger

Hello Friends!

Well, I had big plans to show you our outdoor living space at our lakehouse today. It was meant to tie in with last week’s post about my recipe for a cozy and stylish living room. You can check that post out by clicking here.

I got so far as to style the space, take some photos…and that was about it. I promise you I have a good reason for my failed blog post attempt, and I am sure you will enjoy these photos even more than the ones I had planned.

Introducing the newest member of our family…Ginger Clementine Hansen!

Sadie and I picked her up from the Seattle Airport on thursday morning and we haven’t stopped fawning over this baby girl ever since!

Ginger is an 8 week old German Pudelpointer, which according to Mr Google is “an interesting hunting dog that originated from the Pudel, or German Hunting Poodle, the English Pointer and other Pointing breeds. It is a hypoallergenic breed and a versatile hunter. The Pudelpointer breed was developed for tracking, pointing, and retrieving but her gentle and affectionate nature gives her potential as a family pet”.

Steve has always dreamed of having a hunting buddy and this little lady should be trained up and ready to go next hunting season. In the meantime, she is bringing us so much joy!

Well, most of us…Lucy is not as big a fan, lol. She is actually handling the new arrival better than we thought. For the most part, she is politely indifferent. We did some research ahead of time about introducing a new puppy to you existing dog, and the suggestion was to have them meet for the first time on neutral ground. Ginger was VERY interested in meeting, but Lucy totally ignored her!

In the meantime, we are all taking puppy shifts…

Thank goodness for this portable puppy playpen, it has been a lifesaver and Ginger seems quite happy to sleep in there.

especially if she has company!

I plan on squeezing in as many puppy snuggles as I can because this little lady won’t fit in my arms for very long!

Thanks for reading!

xo, Kerri
