Hello friends and welcome to the Little Nest Design Blog! The goal of my blog is to share my passion for decorating and organizing. I hope to inspire you with my ideas, as well as share goodness that I discover while reading other blogs and surfing Pinterest. I have been wanting to start a blog for quite some time now. Over the past year and a half, I have been doing some pretty intense “Research and Development” which basically means finding and following some pretty awesome bloggers. I picked up lots of helpful tips from them and also started to get a sense for the kinds of things I want to blog about. While I am a loyal reader of several blogs (www.thediyplaybook.com, www.hisugarplum.com and www.iheartorganizing.com I’m looking at you!) today I want to talk about two of my favorite celebrity design bloggers – Joanna Gaines and Emily Henderson.
Emily Henderson is an official spokeswoman for Target, which technically SHOULD BE MY JOB! Anyone who knows me understands this! Even though Emily clearly stole my job, she seems so cool, sweet and nice, I have decided to love her anyway.
Check out her blog: www.stylebyemilyhenderson.com.
She also has a really great book called “Styled”. I ordered my copy one night, while in the tub, using my iphone. Gotta love technology! I was so excited when it arrived, it is sooooo purty! And the content is pretty awesome too!
For those of you who don’t know Joanna Gaines, she and her hilarious husband Chip are the stars of HGTV’s hit show “Fixer Upper”. I have a framed print in my office that says “Joanna Gaines is my spirit animal”…I guess you could say I kind of adore her. She has been such an inspiration to me and I love all that she is and all that she does. I even travelled to Waco Texas to visit her store, Magnolia Market and attend an event called “Silobration”. Our stalker tendencies enabled my friend and I to see Joanna up close and in person. That is a blog post for another day! The picture below was quickly snapped on my phone as she walked by me…I was dying!
Fun fact, Joanna Gaines was actually discovered by HGTV because of her blog. She wrote a piece on how she had renovated and decorated her house to accommodate her 4 kids. I did some digging and found that post, check it out! https://www.designmom.com/living-with-kids-joanna-gaines/
You can read Joanna’s current blog here: https://magnoliamarket.com/blog/
I have so many stories to tell and things to share, all coming soon!
