When I registered for the Bloom Bash Workshop, one of the things I was quite intrigued about was the promise of a styled wedding shoot on the second day of the retreat.
And just like everything else about this experience, the styled shoot blew me away! As promised, there was a staged “wedding” complete with a Bride & Groom, a wedding cake and a gorgeous outdoor table setting!
All that was missing was a dance floor filled with people of all ages doing the Macarena!
Ashley and Michaela came up with a concept for this styled wedding shoot, complete with a color scheme, custom wedding invitations, and did I mention a Bride and Groom? The couple that modeled for us are actually engaged, how cute are they?
In today’s post, I want to share the photos I took during this portion of the workshop. It was so amazing to have this beautiful scene to take photos of! And so great to have help from a group of professional photographers, on hand to assist those of us who needed some help with camera settings etc! I am so happy with the way my pictures turned out, well, for the most part anyway! There is definitely still lots of room for improvement! But I am now using my DSLR exclusively in manual mode so that is a pretty big deal for me!
Annie, from Wildfied Paper Co. designed the wedding suite – there were invitations, RSVP cards, menus, food tags and I’m sure I’m missing other things. To be honest, there were so many beautiful details to take in, I was on sensory overload!
Peaches were the inspiration for this shoot and both the actual fruit, as well as the color, were incorporated into all aspects of the wedding decor. So genius!
I absolutely adore Annie’s watercolor paintings. I think she is crazy talented! No wonder she was one of the vendors at the Silobration, but I will talk more about that later this week when I share the photos from that amazing event! Anyway, look at these cute little mini paintings she did for the fruit tarts:
And don’t these tarts look delicious? Once again, A+ for presentation!
Amy Osaba was the genius behind the gorgeous floral arrangements used throughout the shoot. The peach colored roses are stunning!
Funny story, while we were listening to Ashely and Michaela teach us about the wonder and beauty that is social media and how to use it in your business, Amy was busy working on a floral installation in the upstairs portion of the venue. I saw Ashley’s draw drop and then turned to look at what she was looking at, and there is Amy dragging some branches that she had “foraged” out in the surrounding property. I wish I thought to snap a picture of adorable Amy, dressed in a cute outfit and heels, dragging rather large branches up a flight of stairs…can you see it in your mind? Just take a look at what she created:
Isn’t this amazing? It made the most beautiful background for these photos of the Bride and Groom:
One of my favorite parts of the styled wedding shoot was the outdoor dining scene…sigh…
I loved this table setting so much, I think I took the most photos of this part. The yellow buffalo check table cloth and the blue stemware and china was such an excellent choice! The dishware was provided by Dixie Does Vintage rentals, based out of Dallas.
And another stunning flower arrangement by Amy. Such a colorful display!
The menu cards were part of the beautiful wedding suite, and there were even place cards with the names done in caligraphy.
I really loved the x-back dining chairs paired with this scene. It looks to me like something you might see on a farm in the South of France…not that I have ever been there, but this is what I picture it being like!
I also really enjoyed these rusty white lanterns hanging from the trees, this screamed Joanna Gaines to me!
I found myself so drawn to these lanterns hanging from the trees, it was one of those added details that made this staged event so beautiful! I can’t think of anything more romantic and beautiful then sitting at this table as the sun was setting with those lanterns lit…so pretty!
Here is a shot of the backside of the barn, just look at those windows! No wonder the lighting inside is so perfect!
Another favorite scene of mine was the wedding cake which was displayed at the front entrance of the White Sparrow.
The wedding cake was made by Sweet Somethings by Ashleigh and it tasted delicious! It was such a work of art, I ALMOST felt bad cutting it up and eating it…
